Dinner and Dedication for The Ecumenical Assembly/Love Chapel Volunteers
The evening of Thursday, June 8, 2017, the Columbus North High School cafeteria was filled for a dinner and dedication for the volunteers of The Ecumenical Assembly of Bartholomew County Churches, otherwise known as Love Chapel. This time of praise and celebration was accompanied by local food donations from Ish’s Fish, Johnny Carino’s, Fazoli’s, and Red Lobster. A meal of fish, hush puppies, fries, salad, and ice cream was served, along with a chocolate fountain.
Volunteers were reminded of their impact on the community through God’s grace. Love Chapel Executive Director Elizabeth Kestler thanked volunteers for showing their fruits of the spirit while serving the community- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control.
Love Chapel’s mission and vision to support and strengthen those in need through Christ’s love in action is carried out by some 200 volunteers within the community. Many volunteers have served 5, 10, and even 25 years. Love Chapel extends a message of gratitude for all of those in the community who serve so diligently.
